Kurushima-Kaikyō Bridge
This chain of three suspension bridges crosses the fast tidal waters of the Kurushima Strait from Imabari to Ōshima. It is the first link of the Shimanami Kaido and the most striking line on the map.

关于地图
Imabari Map Poster & Print
Imabari covers a stretch of the northern coast of Shikoku in Ehime Prefecture and looks out over the Seto Inland Sea. Water defines the city on a map: a curved waterfront, harbour basins and a field of islands to the north. The bridges of the Shimanami Kaido, an expressway and cycling route that crosses to Onomichi in Hiroshima, link those islands together.
The city is best known in Japan for two industries. Imabari towels, valued for softness and absorbency, make up a large share of the country's towel production, and the shipyards along the coast make the area one of Japan's main shipbuilding centres. Imabari Castle, built by Tōdō Takatora, is unusual because its moats are filled with seawater.
An Imabari map poster captures the place where the city's orderly streets meet a complicated coastline. The castle's square moats sit close to the shore, and the Kurushima Strait narrows between the mainland and the islands. The first span of the bridge chain reaches across the water like a thin line drawn with a ruler, pointing toward the islands beyond.

Seawater castle moats
Imabari Castle stands near the shore inside wide moats connected to the sea. Their clean rectangular outline stands out clearly against the irregular coastline around them.
Harbour and shipyards
Along the waterfront, docks, piers and shipyard basins break the shore into sharp geometric shapes. They show the maritime industry that has shaped the city's economy.

为什么选 Imabari
一张有意义的地图
Anyone who has cycled the Shimanami Kaido, grown up near the towel mills or worked in the shipyards will recognise this coastline immediately. The islands and bridges make the city's map one of the most graphic along the Inland Sea.
Add the date of a ride or a personal subtitle to the title and coordinates line, and choose from five styles. Blueprint suits the shipbuilding heritage, while Paper and Sand bring out the softer shoreline. The HD files cost $9 and come in six print sizes.
