Small town core
A modest cluster of lanes and buildings forms the centre. It appears on the poster as a small, irregular pattern rather than a formal grid.

关于地图
Jafaro Map Poster & Print
Jafaro is a town in the Androy region, in the far south of Madagascar. The region is the driest part of the island, known for spiny forest, scrubland and long dry seasons. On a map the town is a small cluster of paths and dwellings, with roads and tracks reaching out across a landscape that shows little other development.
Androy is the homeland of the Antandroy people, whose name is often translated as people of the thorns, a reference to the spiny vegetation of the south. Settlements here are generally small and spread out, shaped by farming, herding and the difficulty of finding water. Jafaro fits that pattern.
A Jafaro map poster is intentionally minimal. The town sits at the centre as a modest arrangement of lines, and the rest of the frame is open country. For people with a connection to this part of Madagascar, the simplicity of the map says something true about the place.

Tracks outward
Roads and tracks lead away to other villages across the region. They are the main lines on the map and give the composition its direction.
Southern scrubland
The land around the town is dry and lightly settled. That openness becomes wide white space on the poster, framing the settlement.
