Jilādiguda is a neighbourhood on the southeastern side of Hyderabad, in Telangana, within the large urban area that has spread out from the old city over recent decades. From above, the area is dense and fine-grained. Narrow lanes and small plots fill the spaces between a few wider roads that carry traffic towards the city centre and the outer suburbs.
Hyderabad sits on the Deccan Plateau, where the ground is marked by granite outcrops and the city is dotted with lakes, known locally as tanks and cheruvus. In the surrounding area, these features break the built-up pattern with irregular open spaces. The street network adapts around them, bending and branching instead of following a single grid.
