关于地图
Jiutai Map Poster & Print
Jiutai is a district of Changchun in Jilin province, on the broad plains of northeast China. From above, the town is surrounded by farmland that stretches in long regular fields in all directions. The urban area is fairly compact. Its streets are mostly straight and cross at right angles, as is common in towns of the region.
Since the land is so flat, the main structure of the map comes from roads and railways, not from terrain. Main routes lead toward central Changchun to the southwest and across the countryside to other towns. Small rivers and irrigation channels cross the fields, drawing thin irregular lines through the rectilinear grid of the farms.
A Jiutai map poster works as a portrait of a plains town: a dense grid of blocks in the centre, surrounded by field boundaries that repeat the same geometry at a larger scale. The winters here are long and cold, and the black-and-white styles fit well with the open, spare landscape around the town.
