Compact centre
The town's streets gather into a small, dense core. On the map it forms a clear focal point surrounded by much more open land.

关于地图
Kachīsī Map Poster & Print
Kachisi is a town in the western highlands of Oromia, west of Addis Ababa. It lies in a region of hills and river valleys, where the plateau starts to break up into deeper terrain. On a map, it appears as a compact cluster of streets, with a few roads leading out into the surrounding countryside.
The town serves as a local centre for the farming communities around it. Its layout is simple. A main road is lined with buildings, and a small network of streets and paths spreads around it. Beyond the edge of town, cultivated plots, pastures and scattered homesteads cover the rolling land.
A Kachīsī map poster is a portrait of a small highland town at human scale. The whole settlement fits comfortably on the sheet, with generous space for the landscape around it. In black and white, the few strong roads and the fine texture of the fields give a calm, uncluttered image.

Roads outward
A handful of roads leave the town in different directions and connect it to neighbouring communities. They extend like thin lines across the countryside.
Rolling farmland
Fields and pastures cover the hills around the town. Their small, irregular plots give the edge of the print a soft, detailed texture.

为什么选 Kachīsī
一张有意义的地图
A map of Kachisi shows home for people who grew up there and now live in Addis Ababa, other Ethiopian cities or abroad. It is a way to keep a small, specific place in view, the kind of town that general maps rarely show.
