Kamener Kreuz
The A1 and A2 motorways meet west of the centre in a large interchange. Its looping ramps form one of the most recognisable shapes on the map.

关于地图
Kamen Map Poster & Print
Kamen lies on the eastern edge of the Ruhr, in the district of Unna, where the industrial belt starts to give way to farmland. The small Seseke river runs through the town, and the historic core sits close to its banks. It is a tight cluster of streets that grew up long before the coal era. Around it, later housing spreads outward in looser loops and cul-de-sacs.
Many German drivers know the town's name from the Kamener Kreuz, the junction just outside the centre where the A1 and A2 motorways meet. On a map the interchange is unmistakable: a knot of curving ramps set against straight lines of road. Mining shaped Kamen for much of the twentieth century, and the street layout still shows the pattern of former colliery districts.
A Kamen map poster brings these layers together: the old core by the river, the residential rings, the railway and the sweeping geometry of the motorway cross. In black and white, the contrast between the irregular medieval streets and the engineered roads becomes the point of the image. It is a small portrait of how a Ruhr town was shaped by both history and traffic.

Seseke river
The Seseke runs through the town as a narrow waterway, with green strips along parts of its banks. It ties the old centre to the surrounding districts.
Historic core
Close to the river, the old town keeps a denser, irregular street pattern that stands apart from the more regular post-war neighbourhoods laid out around it.

为什么选 Kamen
一张有意义的地图
For people who grew up in Kamen, the map is a portrait of home that also explains the place to visitors: here is the river, here is the old town, and there is the junction almost everyone has passed through at least once.
Personalise the title and subtitle, add a date or the coordinates line, and pick one of five styles. Noir suits the motorway geometry particularly well. Order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
