Road to the north
The main route from Kitale toward Lodwar passes close to town, a strong line on the map that links the green highlands to the semi-arid plains of Turkana beyond.

关于地图
Kapenguria Map Poster & Print
Kapenguria is the administrative seat of West Pokot County, set in the green highlands of north-western Kenya. On a map the town reads as a compact cluster of streets gathered near the main road that climbs from Kitale toward the dry north, with scattered compounds and field tracks thinning out quickly into cultivated slopes.
The name carries weight in Kenyan history. In 1952 and 1953 the colonial government tried Jomo Kenyatta and five fellow nationalists here, a case remembered as the trial of the Kapenguria Six. The place where they were held is now preserved as a museum, and the town's modest street pattern still holds that story close to its centre.
A Kapenguria map poster shows a place where the town ends abruptly and the land takes over. Roads branch into farm lanes, streams cut small valleys, and the contour of the highlands is felt in the way streets bend rather than run straight. In black and white the result is sparse and quiet, a map defined as much by space as by line.

Kapenguria Six museum
The site of the 1950s detention and trial of Kenyatta and his co-accused is preserved as a museum, a small marked point with an outsized place in the country's path to independence.
Highland farm tracks
Beyond the centre, thin lanes wander between smallholdings and wooded slopes, giving the outer edges of the poster a fine, irregular texture instead of a formal street pattern.

为什么选 Kapenguria
一张有意义的地图
For people from West Pokot, or anyone who has worked or taught in the county, this map is a direct reminder of a particular road, a market day, a view toward the hills. It also suits readers of Kenyan history who know the name from the trial.
The poster can carry your own title, a subtitle such as a year or family name, and a coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; the softer Paper and Sand tones suit the open, rural character of the map well.
