关于地图
Karatsu Map Poster & Print
Karatsu is in Saga Prefecture, on the northwest coast of Kyushu, facing Karatsu Bay and the Genkai Sea. On a map the coastline takes up most of the picture. The Matsuura River reaches the sea next to the old town. Karatsu Castle stands on a small headland above the river mouth, and a compact grid of castle-town streets fills the ground behind it.
East of the centre, the Niji-no-Matsubara pine grove runs for several kilometres along the curve of the bay. It is one of Japan's best-known coastal pine forests and shows up as a thin, even strip between the beach and the town. Karatsu is also known for Karatsu ware, a traditional pottery, and for the Karatsu Kunchi festival held every autumn.
A Karatsu map poster sets these features against the water: the castle headland, the bridges across the river, the long arc of pines and the small islands offshore. Being on the bay gives the design a natural edge. The dense town streets fill one side, and the calm open sea fills the other.

Niji-no-Matsubara
A pine forest several kilometres long follows the curve of the bay east of the town. It forms a thin, smooth band that separates the beach from the streets behind it.
Matsuura River mouth
The river widens as it meets the sea. Bridges cross it close to the castle, and the older town sits on one bank with newer districts on the other.

为什么选 Karatsu
一张有意义的地图
Karatsu has a very recognisable shape from above: a castle, a river mouth and a curve of pines along a quiet bay. It suits pottery collectors, festival visitors and anyone with family ties to this part of Kyushu.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates of your choice, and select from five styles. Blueprint and Sand work especially well for maps with a lot of coastline. You can download files for $9 or order a matte print shipped from a partner close to you.
