关于地图
Kasumigaura Map Poster & Print
Kasumigaura lies in southern Ibaraki Prefecture, on the shores of the lake that shares its name. Lake Kasumigaura is the second largest lake in Japan, and on the map it dominates the city: the land wraps around a peninsula between the lake's western arms, giving the municipality a long, irregular shoreline.
The city was formed in 2005 from the merger of smaller towns, and its settled area is spread out rather than concentrated. Villages and residential clusters sit along the roads, separated by farmland, including the lotus fields for which the lakeside areas of Ibaraki are known.
A Kasumigaura map poster captures this open, low landscape: wide water, a long shoreline and a scattered network of roads and settlements. The result is less about a dense centre and more about the relationship between land and lake.

Lotus fields
Low-lying fields near the water, many planted with lotus, form fine rectangular patterns that are visible between the roads and villages.
Dispersed settlements
Instead of a single centre, the city is made up of scattered clusters linked by roads, a quiet rural pattern across the peninsula.
