The great stupa
A vast brick mound with stepped terraces stands at the edge of town. It is a distinct landmark in a landscape otherwise made of fields and low buildings.

关于地图
Kesariyā Map Poster & Print
Kesariyā lies in East Champaran district in northern Bihar, on the flat alluvial plain north of the Ganges. The map shows a compact town of close-set lanes and markets, with roads leading off to neighbouring villages. All around it stretches a wide, even landscape of fields, ponds and groves of trees.
The name is known far beyond Bihar because of the Kesariya Stupa, an immense terraced brick monument associated with the Buddha's final journey and counted among the largest Buddhist stupas anywhere. Excavations revealed its full scale, and it is now a protected site visited by pilgrims and travellers following the Buddhist circuit.
A Kesariyā map poster shows the town and its surroundings as a quiet pattern of roads and settlements across open land. The stupa sits just outside the densest streets, a reminder that this ordinary market town grew up beside one of the major monuments of early Buddhism. In black and white the flatness of the plain looks calm and spacious.

Market lanes
The centre is a small, dense cluster of streets where roads converge. It forms the darkest part of the map before the pattern thins out into farmland.
Open plain
The Gangetic plain stretches out in every direction, dotted with villages, ponds and field boundaries that give the poster a light, even texture.
