Teutonic castle
The brick castle stands at the edge of the old town. It is a compact, solid block that once anchored the town's defences and still sits at the centre of its historic core.

关于地图
Kętrzyn Map Poster & Print
Kętrzyn is a town in the Warmian-Masurian lake district of northeastern Poland, known in German as Rastenburg. Its historic centre is small and tightly drawn. A brick castle of the Teutonic Order and a heavily fortified Gothic church mark the old edges of the medieval town. Later streets spread outward across gently rolling ground.
The town grew around a crossing of roads and, later, railway lines. On the map these arrive from several directions and meet near the centre. Beyond the built-up area, the landscape breaks into fields, woods and scattered lakes typical of Masuria. A few kilometres east, in the forest at Gierłoż, lie the remains of Hitler's Wolf's Lair headquarters, which draws many visitors to the area today.
A Kętrzyn map poster shows a clear contrast. There is the dense, walled-town core with its castle and church, then the looser grid of nineteenth- and twentieth-century streets, and finally the open lake country beyond. In black and white it reads as a town that grew outward in layers from a medieval centre.

Fortified church
The Gothic church of St George, built with thick walls and defensive features, is a second strong mark on the old town's outline. Together with the castle, it frames the medieval centre.
Masurian surroundings
Outside town the map breaks into fields, forest and small lakes. It is the open, watery countryside of Masuria, reached by roads that radiate from the centre.

为什么选 Kętrzyn
一张有意义的地图
Kętrzyn means different things to different people: a hometown, a stop on a Masurian lakes trip, or a place studied for its twentieth-century history. A map poster holds all of that in one calm, neutral image.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with both Kętrzyn and Rastenburg, or a family date. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order it as HD files for $9 or as a printed poster.
