Planned street grid
The town centre follows the straight streets and rectangular blocks typical of Soviet-era planning, which reads clearly from above.

关于地图
Kolkhozobod Map Poster & Print
Kolkhozobod lies in the Khatlon region of southern Tajikistan, in the lowlands not far from the Vakhsh River and the border with Afghanistan. The name reflects its Soviet-era origins as a collective-farm centre, and the surrounding district now carries the name of the poet Jalaluddin Rumi, who was born in Balkh.
On a map, the town has the straight streets and regular blocks of Soviet planning, set in the middle of a wide, flat, irrigated plain. Canals and field boundaries form long lines around it, dividing the land into large rectangular plots once used mostly for cotton.
A Kolkhozobod map poster presents an almost abstract pattern: a small grid of streets surrounded by an even larger grid of fields and irrigation channels. The canals bring a few longer, gently curving lines. The drawing is orderly and calm, and it looks particularly clean in the Blueprint or Paper styles.

Irrigation canals
Canals run through the surrounding plain, bringing water to the fields and adding long lines that cut across the farm plots.
Vakhsh lowlands
The town lies in the broad valley of the Vakhsh, a flat, open landscape that stretches toward the Amu Darya and the Afghan border.
