Krolevets Map Poster & Print
Krolevets lies in the north of Sumy Oblast, in the flat, open country of northern Ukraine. Its map shows a historic centre where main roads converge, with residential streets spreading outward in a mix of straight lines and gentle curves. Private houses with long garden plots give the outer districts a spacious, low-density look, and fields press in closely on every side.
The town has a long history as a market centre and was once host to large annual fairs that drew traders from across the region. It is best known today for Krolevets weaving: ritual towels, or rushnyky, woven in red and white with stylised trees, birds and geometric patterns, a tradition that has become one of the recognised symbols of Ukrainian folk art.
