Kuttuparamba lies in Kannur district in northern Kerala, inland from the coastal towns of Thalassery and Kannur. The land here rises gradually from the coast into low hills, and on a map the town sits at a meeting of roads, with its busier streets gathered where several routes converge and houses spreading out across the slopes.
The terrain is typical of northern Kerala, with laterite plateaus, valleys and dense vegetation.
