Shipyard docks
Enormous rectangular docks and piers line the bays on the island's eastern side. In black and white they read as bold industrial geometry against the fine lines of the surrounding streets.

关于地图
Kyosai Map Poster & Print
Kyosai is the older romanisation of Geoje, the island city off the southern coast of Gyeongsangnam-do. Geoje is South Korea's second-largest island, and from above its outline looks almost torn: long peninsulas, narrow inlets and small offshore islets wrap around a hilly interior. Towns sit wherever the land flattens near the water, so the street network is scattered in pockets rather than laid out as one continuous grid.
Shipbuilding dominates the east side of the island. Some of the world's largest shipyards occupy the bays around Okpo and Gohyeon, and on a map their dry docks and slipways appear as huge rectangles cut into the shoreline. They are larger than anything else in the frame and contrast sharply with the tight residential streets around them.
Gohyeon is also home to the historic park on the site of the Korean War prisoner-of-war camp, part of the island's layered past. A Kyosai map poster shows all of this at once: wooded ridges left mostly blank, harbour towns packed into valley mouths, bridges reaching toward the mainland, and a coastline intricate enough to fill a wall with detail.

Fractured coastline
Dozens of coves, capes and small islands surround Geoje. The intricate shoreline is the poster's main visual feature and rewards close inspection at larger print sizes.
Valley towns
Settlements such as Gohyeon crowd into flat ground between hills and sea. Their compact grids end abruptly at the ridges, which the map leaves open and quiet.

为什么选 Kyosai
一张有意义的地图
Many people know Geoje through work in the shipyards, military service or summers on its beaches. A map of the island holds all of those connections without leaning on any single photograph, and the complex coastline makes it a striking piece even for visitors.
You can change the title and subtitle, for example to Geoje, a date or a name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free watermarked preview lets you check the layout before you buy the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
