Old harbour
The old port sits at the centre of the town, surrounded by a dense web of narrow streets that reads as a fine, intricate texture on the map.

关于地图
La Ciotat Map Poster & Print
La Ciotat lies on the Mediterranean coast between Marseille and Toulon, on a wide bay sheltered by the ochre cliffs of the Cap de l'Aigle. The old town is a tight network of narrow streets packed around the harbour, while newer neighbourhoods spread along the bay toward the beaches and up the hills behind it.
For much of the twentieth century the town was defined by its shipyards, and the large dry docks and cranes still shape the harbour today, now used for building and refitting superyachts. A La Ciotat map poster shows the geometry of these docks clearly, a set of long rectangular basins cutting into the coastline beside the old port.
La Ciotat has two claims to fame far beyond Provence. The Lumière brothers filmed a train arriving at its station in the 1890s, one of the earliest films, and the Eden Théâtre here is often cited as one of the oldest cinemas in the world. The game of pétanque is also said to have been invented in La Ciotat in 1907.

Shipyard basins
Long dry docks and basins cut sharp rectangles into the coast, a distinctive industrial shape that sets La Ciotat apart from neighbouring resort towns.
Bec de l'Aigle
To the southwest, the headland rises steeply above the sea, with the Île Verte just offshore, forming a dramatic edge to the bay.

为什么选 La Ciotat
一张有意义的地图
La Ciotat is a place people fall for on holiday and return to year after year, for the bay, the nearby calanques and the light over the harbour. A map poster keeps that coastline within reach long after the summer ends.
Add a title, a subtitle such as Provence and a year, and the coordinates line. Noir and Blueprint suit the harbour's sharp lines, while Classic black & white, Paper and Sand give a softer Mediterranean feel.
