关于地图
Laayoune Map Poster & Print
Laayoune is the largest city in Western Sahara, a territory whose status remains disputed. It stands a short distance inland from the Atlantic, on the edge of the Saguia el-Hamra, a broad dry valley that runs through the desert. On a map the city appears as a compact built area with open land and dunes all around it.
Much of today's city was planned and built in the second half of the twentieth century. Wide avenues, large squares and regular blocks give the centre an orderly shape. Roads lead west toward the coast, where the port area handles fishing and phosphate shipments from inland mines.
A Laayoune map poster is a study in contrast: a clearly drawn street pattern surrounded by the emptiness of the desert, with the curve of the valley along one side. The large blank areas around the city give the print a spare, graphic look.

Broad, straight avenues and large public squares form the backbone of the centre, a sign of how recently most of the city was laid out.
Road to the coast
A main road runs west from the city toward the Atlantic and the port area, a single line crossing open desert.

The map is for people from Laayoune living elsewhere, and for those who have worked or served in the region and want to remember it. Its open, uncluttered composition suits calm, minimal interiors.
