Leamington Map Poster & Print
Leamington is a town in Essex County, Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Erie. On a map, a compact grid of streets meets the water at the harbour and the ferry dock. Straight concession roads then run out through flat farmland in every direction. Large greenhouse complexes sit among the fields in long rectangles, and on a detailed plan their outlines form a pattern of their own.
The area is known across Canada for its greenhouse vegetables, and for many years the town was closely tied to tomato processing. Just south of town, Point Pelee National Park extends into the lake as a narrow sand spit. It is the southernmost point of mainland Canada. Ferries leave from Leamington for Pelee Island.

South of town the land narrows into the Point Pelee spit, with marshes on either side. It extends into Lake Erie as the southernmost point of mainland Canada.
