Roads following terrain
The main routes through Leuwiliang follow the lie of the land, curving along ridges and valley floors. They give the map its long, flowing lines.

关于地图
Leuwiliang Map Poster & Print
Leuwiliang is a town in West Java, Indonesia's most populous province, in a landscape shaped by volcanoes, heavy rainfall and rivers. From above, its streets do not form a grid. They follow ridges and valleys instead, branching into narrow lanes that thin out as they reach the fields and plantations on the surrounding slopes.
The town serves as a local centre for the villages around it, with a main road carrying most of the traffic and daily life concentrated close to it. Settlement spreads along the roads rather than in compact blocks, as is common in rural West Java, so the built area tapers into the countryside instead of ending at a clear edge.
A Leuwiliang map poster captures that organic pattern. Main roads curve through the frame, smaller lanes branch off like veins, and streams cut through the terrain between them. It is a far looser composition than a European old town, and in monochrome the density of fine lines builds up into a detailed texture.

Branching village lanes
From the main roads, narrow lanes split off toward homes and fields. At poster scale they form a fine, branching network that fills the spaces between the larger roads.
Streams and valleys
Streams run through the area and cross the town's road network. Their curves add a second layer of movement to the map, separate from the roads.
