Linping Map Poster
Linping is a district of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, on the flat, water-rich plain north of the city centre. On a map, the land is crossed by canals, streams and ponds, and new districts with regular street grids sit between them. The layout reflects old agricultural waterways as much as recent planning.
The Beijing–Hangzhou Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the longest artificial waterways in the world, passes through this part of Hangzhou. Its broad channel stands out among the smaller watercourses. Over the past decades, Linping has grown as a residential and industrial area connected to Hangzhou by expressways and metro lines.
A Linping map poster captures a landscape in which water sets the pattern. Straight new avenues meet winding old channels, and larger blocks of development sit among the older lines of the delta plain.
