Turkwel River
The river channel runs close to town, often dry for part of the year, and forms the clearest natural line on the map.

关于地图
Lodwar Map Poster & Print
Lodwar is the main town of Turkana County in northwestern Kenya, a hot, semi-arid region west of Lake Turkana. It lies near the Turkwel River, whose seasonal channel crosses the plain nearby. From above, the town is a loose grid of streets set against wide, empty land with few other roads in sight.
The centre holds the densest streets, and the town thins quickly toward its edges, with long straight roads leading out across the plain. The Turkwel's channel and its line of vegetation provide the main natural feature in an otherwise open landscape. Lodwar serves as the administrative and trading centre for a very large, sparsely populated county.
A Lodwar map poster pairs the modest street network with a riverbed and a lot of open space. It suits anyone who has worked, grown up or travelled here, and those who know the long road north through Turkana.

Open plains
Around the town, the land is flat and sparsely built, so the streets stand out sharply against wide areas of blank space.
Roads outward
A few long, straight roads lead away from the centre across the plain, linking Lodwar to the rest of Turkana and beyond.

为什么选 Lodwar
一张有意义的地图
Few map posters have this much empty space, and it suits Lodwar. A small grid, a river line and open land together make a spare, striking composition that people from Turkana will recognise at once.
Give it your own title and subtitle, keep the coordinates, and choose one of five styles, from warm Sand to crisp Blueprint. HD files cost $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
