The Meuse border
The river runs along the eastern edge of the municipality, marking the border with the Netherlands. Its broad curves and old channels give the map a strong natural boundary.

关于地图
Maasmechelen Map Poster & Print
Maasmechelen lies in the east of Belgian Limburg, along the Meuse where the river forms the border with the Netherlands. The municipality combines older riverside villages with the planned districts built for the coal mining industry in the twentieth century. On the map, these garden cities stand out with their curving streets and regular housing patterns.
The Eisden mine was one of the largest in the Kempen coalfield before mining ended, and the town has since found new uses for its industrial heritage. To the west lies the Hoge Kempen National Park, with heath, forest and former quarries, while the Maasmechelen Village outlet centre draws visitors from across the region.
A Maasmechelen map poster shows a town defined by its history of work and its landscape. The river on one side, the park on the other and the planned mining districts between them make for a varied, balanced composition.

Mining garden cities
Districts built for miners and their families have curving, planned streets and green spaces. From above they appear as distinct, ordered neighbourhoods.
Hoge Kempen edge
To the west the streets give way to heath and forest in the national park. The open land provides a calm margin on the poster.

为什么选 Maasmechelen
一张有意义的地图
Many families in Maasmechelen trace their story to the mines, often with roots in Italy, Poland or Turkey. A map of the town, and of the district they grew up in, keeps that history close.
