Central grid
Around the main plaza and church, square colonial blocks form a tight, regular core. They are the densest part of the map and are easy to read at any print size.

关于地图
Machachi Map Poster & Print
Machachi lies south of Quito and is the main town of Mejía canton in Pichincha. It sits in the high valley that runs between two lines of the Andes, often called the Avenue of the Volcanoes. On a map the town is a compact grid of streets beside the Pan-American Highway. Farmland and pasture spread out in all directions toward the mountains.
The mountains are close. Corazón and the Ilinizas rise to the west, Rumiñahui and Pasochoa to the east, and Cotopaxi further south. Their lower slopes show up at the edges of the map as open land cut by streams and field roads. Machachi is also well known in Ecuador for its natural mineral springs. The country's best-known sparkling water is bottled here.
A Machachi map poster centres on the plaza and the orderly blocks around it. It shows the highway running past, and a patchwork of farms spreading out to the foot of the volcanoes. It is a mountain town, and the empty space around the streets matters as much as the streets themselves.

Pan-American Highway
The main road through the Andean valley passes beside the town. It is a long line that connects Machachi north to Quito and south toward Latacunga.
Valley farmland
Pastures, fields and ravines fill the land between the town and the mountains. The pattern is soft and irregular, and it gives the poster its high-country character.

为什么选 Machachi
一张有意义的地图
People hang Machachi as a reminder of the valley on the way to Cotopaxi. Others hang it for the family farm, or for the town where they grew up, south of Quito. The map shows how the town sits on its plain with open space all around.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, and choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files cost $9 and cover six print sizes. Matte printed posters are also available with an optional wooden frame.
