关于地图
Mackay Map Poster & Print
Mackay lies on the central Queensland coast at the mouth of the Pioneer River, where the river meets the Coral Sea. The city centre sits on the south bank in a tidy grid, while newer suburbs spread north across the river and along the coast. Beyond the built-up area, the flat plain is covered in sugar cane, divided into long rectangular paddocks crossed by narrow cane railways.
Often called the sugar capital of Australia, Mackay grew around cane farming and milling, and its bulk sugar terminal is one of the largest in the country. The harbour, protected by a long breakwater, lies north of the centre, and the coal export terminals of Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay operate further south. The Whitsunday Islands and Eungella National Park are both within reach.
A Mackay map poster shows the city between river, sea and cane fields: the curve of the Pioneer, the long line of beaches, the enclosed harbour and the grid of the old town. In black and white, the pattern of paddocks around the suburbs adds a subtle geometric texture, and the map says a lot about how the place lives and works.

Mackay Harbour
North of the centre, a long breakwater encloses the harbour and its marina, giving the coastline a strong, angular shape against the open Coral Sea.
Cane country
Rectangular sugar cane paddocks surround the city on the coastal plain, crossed by roads and cane railway lines that form a fine grid around the urban edge.
