Open-pit copper mine
The copper mine forms a large, stepped hollow beside the town. Its terraced walls create concentric shapes that read almost like an abstract drawing on the poster.

关于地图
Malajkhand Map Poster & Print
Malajkhand lies in the Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, in a hilly, forested part of central India. The town exists because of copper. The Malanjkhand copper project, operated by Hindustan Copper, is one of the largest open-pit copper mines in the country, and on a map the pit is impossible to miss: a great stepped hollow cut into the landscape.
Around the mine, the town is laid out with the practical logic of an industrial settlement. Residential colonies follow regular patterns of roads and blocks, service areas and haul routes link to the workings, and beyond them the forest and hills of the region take over. The contrast between engineered geometry and natural ground is unusually sharp.
A Malajkhand map poster turns the open pit into a central graphic feature, its terraces rendered as concentric contour-like lines. The town and its colonies sit beside it, and forest and field boundaries fill the rest of the frame. It is a map about work and landscape, and it looks quite unlike a typical town plan.

Forested surroundings
Beyond the mine and town, the map opens into the hills and forest of Balaghat district, with only scattered roads and tracks crossing the quieter land.

为什么选 Malajkhand
一张有意义的地图
For families connected to the copper mine, a map of Malajkhand is a record of years spent working and living beside it. The open pit gives the print a distinctive shape that will be recognised immediately by anyone who knows the town.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a joining date, a retirement or a family name. Choose from five styles, including the technical-looking Blueprint, and buy the $9 HD files or a printed matte poster with an optional frame.
