Canal des Pangalanes
The inland waterway runs just behind the coast, a line of lagoons and channels that separates the town from the mainland and doubles the shoreline on the map.

关于地图
Mananjary Map Poster & Print
Mananjary lies on the east coast of Madagascar, where the Mananjary River reaches the Indian Ocean. The town occupies a thin band of land between the sea and the Canal des Pangalanes. The canal is a long chain of lagoons and cut channels that runs parallel to much of the island's eastern shore. On a map, water frames the town on almost every side.
The streets follow the coast in long, slightly curving lines, crossed by shorter lanes running from lagoon to beach. The river mouth and the canal break the land into strips and islets, and the ocean shore forms a long, unbroken edge. The town's layout only makes sense once you see the water around it.
Across Madagascar, Mananjary is known for the Sambatra, a large ceremony of the Antambahoaka people held roughly every seven years. A Mananjary map poster offers a quieter view of the same place: the geometry of shore, canal and river, drawn in thin black lines on a pale ground.

The river mouth
The Mananjary River meets the sea beside the town. It spreads into channels and sandbanks that make up the poster's most intricate section.
Ocean shore
A long, open beach faces the Indian Ocean along the eastern edge. Its clean line contrasts with the broken-up water on the landward side.

为什么选 Mananjary
一张有意义的地图
Coastal towns with this much water make striking maps, and Mananjary's position between ocean and canal reads clearly even at small sizes. It suits anyone who has travelled the east coast or has family ties to the region.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a date, and the coordinates, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint brings out the water especially well. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
