Section-line grid

关于地图
Maricopa Map Poster & Print
Maricopa sits in Pinal County, south of the Phoenix metropolitan area, on flat desert ground that was farmed long before the houses arrived. From above, the old agricultural grid is still easy to read: section-line roads run at right angles for miles. Inside that grid, newer neighbourhoods fill the squares with looping streets, cul-de-sacs and small retention ponds.
The town began as a railway stop and stayed small for most of the twentieth century. It incorporated as a city only in 2003 and then grew quickly, mostly as new master-planned communities. State Route 347 is the main road link north toward the Phoenix area, and the Union Pacific line still crosses the city. Amtrak trains stop at the local station.
A Maricopa map poster shows a place still taking shape. The dense curls of residential streets stand against the plain rectangles of fields and the empty desert beyond them. In black and white the contrast between planned and open land is the whole picture: tight, intricate pattern in the middle and wide calm space around the edges.

Looping subdivisions
Master-planned communities fill the grid with curving streets, cul-de-sacs and small lakes, which gives the map its dense ornamental texture.
Highway and rail
State Route 347 and the Union Pacific railway cut across the pattern. They are reminders that the city began as a stop on the line.

为什么选 Maricopa
一张有意义的地图
People who moved to Maricopa for a new house often remember the exact street where the move began. A poster of those curving roads and the grid around them is a quiet record of that start, and it suits a hallway or a home office well.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a move-in date or a family name. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand in particular echoes the desert setting.
