关于地图
Minot Map Poster & Print
Minot is a city in north-central North Dakota, built in the valley of the Souris River, which locals also call the Mouse River. On a map the river loops through the city from west to east. Downtown and the older neighbourhoods sit on the valley floor, and newer residential areas spread across the higher ground to the north and south, reached by roads that climb the valley sides.
The city grew so quickly after the railway arrived in 1886 that it earned the nickname the Magic City. Today it is known for Minot Air Force Base, north of town, and for Norsk Høstfest, a large Scandinavian heritage festival held each autumn. In 2011 the Souris flooded much of the valley, one of the defining events in recent local history.
A Minot map poster makes the river the centrepiece. Its meanders frame the grid of downtown streets, while the long, straight roads of the prairie extend beyond the valley. It suits airmen stationed at the base, families with deep roots in the region, and anyone who remembers the rebuilding after the flood.

Downtown grid
Straight streets and blocks near the railway form a compact grid on the valley floor, the core of the original town.
Valley bluffs
Roads climb from the valley to neighbourhoods on the higher ground. Their curving routes contrast with the flat grid below.

为什么选 Minot
一张有意义的地图
Many people come to Minot for a posting at the base or a few years of work, and a map is a lasting way to mark that time. Others hang it simply because the river and the prairie grid make a striking image.
You can edit the title and subtitle, add a date such as an arrival or a deployment, and keep the coordinates line. Choose from five styles, then download six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
