Ferry harbour
The port where boats from Unguja arrive anchors the waterfront. It is the town's main point of contact with the sea and a natural focus for the poster.

关于地图
Mkoani Map Poster & Print
Mkoani is the main port town of southern Pemba, the northern of the two large islands of the Zanzibar archipelago. It sits on the island's west coast above a bay where ferries arrive from Unguja, which makes it the entry point for many travellers to Pemba. On the map the town is a small cluster of streets on rising ground behind the harbour.
The coastline here is indented and green, with small inlets, mangroves and coral reefs offshore. Misali Island, known for its protected reefs and marine conservation area, lies off this stretch of coast. Inland, roads lead north through hilly country planted with clove trees, the crop Pemba has long been famous for, toward Chake Chake and the rest of the island.
A Mkoani map poster places a compact harbour town against a wide stretch of sea. The port marks the waterfront, the streets climb inland in an irregular pattern, and the indented coastline gives the composition a strong outline. In black and white the sea becomes a calm field that makes the town's small, detailed shape stand out.

Indented coast
Small bays, inlets and mangrove edges shape the shoreline around the town and give the coastline an irregular, finely detailed outline on the map.
Road inland
The main road climbs away from the harbour toward the island's interior and Chake Chake. It is a single strong line crossing hilly, green country.

为什么选 Mkoani
一张有意义的地图
Mkoani is where many journeys to Pemba begin and end. For people who grew up here, or who arrived by ferry and stayed a while, a map of its harbour and coast holds a clear and lasting sense of place.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a date and keep the coordinates line, then choose from five styles. Blueprint and Noir both make the sea strikingly bold. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters are available from partners in more than 30 countries.
