Ridge-following lanes
Local roads trace the tops and flanks of low laterite hills, so the street pattern bends constantly instead of running straight, which gives the map its soft, organic rhythm.

关于地图
Mokēri Map Poster & Print
Mokēri is a settlement in the Kannur district of northern Kerala. It lies a short way inland from the Malabar coast. From above it does not look like one compact town. Houses sit in clusters along ridges and narrow roads, and the green gaps between them are filled with trees rather than empty ground. A map of this part of Kerala looks more like a net than a grid.
In the valleys, lanes bend around wet paddy land and small streams. On higher ground they climb gentle laterite slopes. Temples, schools and junctions pull the settlement together. The line work spreads fairly evenly across the whole sheet, with no single dense core. That makes for a quiet, textured composition, closer to lace than to the hard blocks of a planned city.
A Mokēri map poster keeps that looseness intact. Every road stays connected to the next, and the curving paths that follow the land come through clearly in black and white. Nearby towns such as Thalassery and Kuthuparamba sit just beyond the frame. Keeping them out holds the focus on this one stretch of northern Malabar, with its dispersed, tree-covered layout.

Dispersed settlement
Houses spread along roads rather than packing into a centre, typical of Kerala, so the lines cover the sheet evenly and never gather into one heavy core.
Valley floors
Between the higher ground, lower strips of paddy and small watercourses open up. They show as calm spaces that the roads skirt around.

为什么选 Mokēri
一张有意义的地图
For people from Kannur district, or families with roots in northern Malabar, this map records a place that rarely shows up on printed souvenirs. The winding lanes are the routes to home, school and temple, set down plainly and without decoration.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, or edit the coordinates line to note a family house or a year. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come in six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF, and printed posters are also available.
