The town grid
Morton's older streets follow a straightforward rectangular grid, with a small downtown near the centre. On the poster it forms a steady, even texture that anchors the composition.

关于地图
Morton Map Poster & Print
Morton sits in Tazewell County, a short drive east of Peoria across the Illinois River valley. From above it reads as a classic Midwestern town: a regular grid of streets, a compact commercial core, and residential blocks that thin out into square fields at every edge. Interstate 74 cuts along one side, and its interchanges give the town a clear sense of where the grid ends.
The town is known for its pumpkins. A large canning plant here processes a great share of the canned pumpkin sold in the United States, and Morton has long called itself the Pumpkin Capital of the World, with an annual autumn festival to match. On a map the industry is quiet, a set of long buildings and lots near the rail line.
A Morton map poster works because the geometry is so legible. Straight roads meet at right angles, cul-de-sacs curl off newer subdivisions, and parks appear as neat rectangles inside the pattern. In black and white, the contrast between the dense town grid and the sparse section-line roads of the surrounding farmland becomes the whole story of the place.

Interstate edge
Interstate 74 runs along the town, and its looping interchanges stand out as the most curved lines on the map, a clean contrast to the surrounding right angles.
Section-line fields
Beyond the last subdivisions, county roads follow the survey grid across flat farmland. The sparse lines at the poster's margins show how abruptly town gives way to fields.

为什么选 Morton
一张有意义的地图
People hang a Morton map because it is home in the most literal sense: the street they grew up on, the school route, the festival weekend each autumn. The plain grid is easy to read at a glance, which makes it a good fit for a kitchen, hallway or office wall.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add a date or the coordinates line, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The file comes as a 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF, or as a printed matte poster.
