Mosquera Map Poster & Print
Mosquera lies on the Sabana de Bogotá, just west of the capital, about 2,500 metres above sea level. The land here is almost perfectly flat. From above, the town shows a compact historic centre around a plaza, surrounded by planned housing developments and industrial zones. These have expanded quickly as the Bogotá metropolitan area has grown outward.
The municipality belongs to the savanna's old farming landscape of pastures and wetlands, and the Laguna de la Herrera, one of the remaining high-plain wetlands, lies within its territory. Its position between Bogotá and the towns of the western savanna has also made it an important area for logistics and industry. The town keeps its own identity while becoming part of daily life in the capital region.
A Mosquera map poster sets the regular blocks of the centre against the long straight roads that cross the savanna and the softer shapes of wetland and farmland at the edges. Long, straight roads cross the flat plain toward Bogotá and neighbouring towns. They give the poster strong lines that run right to the edges of the frame.
Wetland edges
Parts of the municipality are low wetland, including the Laguna de la Herrera. Their soft, irregular shapes contrast with the planned housing and industrial blocks nearby.
