关于地图
Niamey Map Poster & Print
Niamey lies on the Niger River in the southwest of Niger. Most of the city spreads along the river's eastern bank, rising from the water onto a low plateau, while newer districts and the university occupy the opposite side. On the map the river is the main feature, broad and slightly winding, with sandbanks, islands and cultivated plots along its edges.
Niamey was a modest settlement until it was chosen as the colonial capital in 1926, and it has grown rapidly since then to become the country's largest city. Two bridges now cross the Niger here: the older Kennedy Bridge and a newer bridge further downstream, both important links between the city's two banks.
The centre includes the Grand Marché, the Grand Mosque and the National Museum, with broad avenues and roundabouts organising the core. A Niamey map poster shows how the city has grown outward from the river onto the plateau, and how the Niger itself, with its bends, islands and bridges, remains the defining element of the whole composition.

Kennedy Bridge
The oldest bridge across the Niger in Niamey connects the centre to the southern bank, a single straight stroke across the broad river.
City on the plateau
From the riverbank the city extends onto a low plateau, where the street grid becomes more regular and spreads outward across the dry land.

为什么选 Niamey
一张有意义的地图
Niamey is a map for Nigeriens at home and in the diaspora, and for those who have lived and worked in the city. The river, the bridges and the growth of the city onto the plateau make a clear, recognisable image that carries real meaning for those who know it.
Personalise the title in French or English, add a name or a date to the subtitle, and edit the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand captures the tones of the Sahel particularly well.
