Regular town grid
The centre is laid out in straight, evenly spaced blocks. On the poster this gives the town a crisp, geometric core that is easy to read at any size.

关于地图
Olanchito Map Poster & Print
Olanchito lies in the Aguán valley in the Honduran department of Yoro. On a map, the town is a compact grid of streets on a wide, flat valley floor. Blocks run in regular rows around the centre and then give way to the large rectangular plots of the surrounding agricultural land. Hills rise on either side of the valley and set the limits of the view.
The Aguán valley has long been an agricultural region, and plantation farming shaped much of its twentieth-century history. Olanchito grew as a local centre for the valley, with roads linking it to other towns in Yoro and towards the Caribbean coast. Its layout is practical and simple, laid out on open, level ground.
An Olanchito map poster is a study in order. The streets form a clear chequerboard that the minimalist style shows well. Around it, the patchwork of fields and the lines of roads and waterways add texture without clutter. It is a quiet, honest portrait of a valley town.

Aguán valley floor
The town stands on the broad, flat floor of the valley. Field boundaries and rural roads spread out from the edges of the built-up area in long, straight lines.
Valley edges
Hills on both sides of the valley frame the lowland. They give the map a sense of place, as a town set in a wide corridor between higher ground.
