关于地图
Palu Map Poster & Print
Palu, capital of Central Sulawesi, sits at the southern end of Palu Bay, a deep inlet that reaches into the island from the Makassar Strait. The city fills the flat valley floor where the bay ends, and steep ranges rise to the east and west. On the map this creates a clear shape: a funnel of water leading to a compact urban area enclosed by high ground.
The Palu River flows north through the centre of the city and into the bay, dividing it into eastern and western halves connected by bridges. The shoreline curves around the head of the bay, and main roads run parallel to it before branching inland. Because the valley lies in a rain shadow, it is one of the driest places in Indonesia, and the land beyond the streets is open and sparse.
In September 2018 an earthquake and tsunami struck Palu, and soil liquefaction destroyed entire neighbourhoods; the city has been rebuilding since, and its map has changed as a result. The Palu-Koro fault that runs through the valley is one of the most active in the region. A Palu map poster records the city as it stands today, framed by the bay and the mountains that define it.

Palu River
The river runs north through the city to the bay, splitting the street network into two halves joined by bridges.
Valley walls
Mountain ranges rise on both sides of the valley, so the streets stop at the slopes and the city takes on the narrow shape of its setting.

为什么选 Palu
一张有意义的地图
For people from Palu, a map of the city carries more than geography, especially after 2018. It can mark a home, a neighbourhood that has changed, or the determination of a place that rebuilt itself around the same bay.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, in Indonesian or English, and choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster is available as a $9 digital download with a free watermarked preview, or as a printed poster.
