关于地图
Pereira Map Poster & Print
Pereira sits on a plateau in Colombia's central Andes, with the Otún River running in a deep valley along its northern edge. From above, the older centre is a regular grid of blocks around the Plaza de Bolívar. Newer districts spread along the ridges and down the slopes, and green ravines break up the street pattern.
The César Gaviria Trujillo Viaduct crosses the Otún gorge and links Pereira with Dosquebradas on the other side. It is one of the most recognisable structures in the region and a strong line on any map of the city. The Plaza de Bolívar is known for Rodrigo Arenas Betancourt's bronze of a nude Simón Bolívar on horseback.
Pereira is a capital of the Eje Cafetero, the coffee-growing region whose landscape has been recognised by UNESCO. A Pereira map poster captures the plateau city itself: a dense grid, winding hillside roads and the river gorge that separates it from its twin municipality. It is a map shaped by the terrain as much as by planning.

Viaduct crossing
The long cable-stayed viaduct is the most direct link across the gorge. On the map, it looks like a single deliberate stroke joining the two urban areas.
Central grid
Around the Plaza de Bolívar and the cathedral, the streets form an orderly colonial-style grid. It stands out against the curving roads that follow the ridges further out.
