The basin floor
The flattest ground holds the densest streets, a closely packed tangle of lanes and blocks that shows up as the darkest area on the poster.

关于地图
Pianura Map Poster & Print
Pianura is a quarter on the western edge of Naples, inside the volcanic landscape of the Campi Flegrei. The name means plain, and the map shows why: the neighbourhood fills a low basin with higher ground around it. The Camaldoli hill, the highest point in the city, rises to the east, and its wooded slopes form a dark boundary against the streets.
Most of Pianura grew quickly in the second half of the twentieth century. As a result, the street pattern is dense and irregular. Roads follow old country lanes and property lines rather than a plan, and apartment blocks crowd together in a tight, uneven mesh that thins out as the land climbs toward the surrounding ridges.
A Pianura map poster records that very Neapolitan geography: a crowded basin, the hills around it and the roads that squeeze through the gaps toward Soccavo and the rest of the city. It is a map of everyday Naples, away from the waterfront, and the terrain gives it strong edges.

Camaldoli slopes
To the east the city's highest hill brings the streets to an end, and winding roads and open green give that side of the map a softer texture.
Phlegraean setting
Pianura belongs to the Campi Flegrei, the volcanic area west of Naples, and the ring of higher ground around the quarter reflects that landscape.

为什么选 Pianura
一张有意义的地图
Pianura is home for a large part of Naples, and many people who have left still describe themselves by the quarter. A map of its crowded basin and surrounding hills is a personal, recognisable piece for anyone with roots on this side of the city.
Add a family name, a street or a date in the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates line. Then choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. You can download it in HD for $9 or order it printed and framed.
