Piešťany Map Poster & Print
Piešťany lies in western Slovakia on the river Váh and is best known as a spa town. Its thermal springs and healing mud have drawn visitors for centuries, and the layout of the town reflects that. The main spa buildings stand on Spa Island, a strip of land surrounded by the Váh and a side channel. The town centre, with its pedestrian streets and park, sits across the water on the west bank.
The Colonnade Bridge links the two. It is a covered footbridge and one of the town's symbols, and at its entrance stands the statue of a man breaking his crutch, the emblem of the spa. On a map the island is a long, calm shape of paths and green space, clearly different from the denser streets of the centre.
North of town the Váh widens into the Sĺňava reservoir, a large body of water that fills the upper part of the frame at wider zoom levels. A Piešťany map poster frames these elements together in clean black lines: the river and its channel, the island, the park along the bank and the lake beyond.

The covered footbridge runs from the town to the island. It is a short but important line on the map that ties the two halves of Piešťany together.
Sĺňava reservoir
Just north of town the Váh spreads into a wide reservoir. At larger scales this broad solid form anchors the top of the composition.
