Piscinola Map Poster & Print
Piscinola is a quarter on the northern edge of Naples, in Campania, on the higher ground above the city centre. It began as a separate village in the countryside, and part of its old core survives in a tight cluster of narrow streets and courtyards. Around it, later decades added large housing estates and wide roads.
The quarter is known as the northern terminus of Naples Metro Line 1, at the Piscinola-Scampia station, and its tracks and viaducts are a clear feature on the map. Piscinola borders Scampia and other northern districts, and the contrast between the old village lanes and the big modern blocks is striking from above.
In a monochrome print, those different scales sit side by side: the intricate texture of the historic core, the large geometric shapes of the estates and the long lines of rail and road.
