Lakes throughout town
Lakes of many sizes are spread across the city, and residential streets bend around their shores. On the poster they form the strongest shapes, pale or solid depending on the style chosen.

关于地图
Portage Map Poster & Print
Portage sits directly south of Kalamazoo in southwest Michigan, and from above it reads as a patchwork of residential loops, broad arterial roads and water. Dozens of lakes, large and small, break up the street pattern, so neighbourhoods curve around shorelines rather than following a strict grid. Interstate 94 crosses the northern edge, and the commercial strip along Westnedge Avenue runs north to south through the middle of town.
The city is closely tied to medical manufacturing. Stryker, the medical technology company, has its headquarters here, and a large pharmaceutical plant with roots in Kalamazoo's Upjohn Company still operates within the city limits. Those campuses appear on the map as large blocks with internal service roads, set apart from the finer grain of the surrounding subdivisions and the wooded parcels between them.
A Portage map poster tends to be defined by its lakes. In black and white, the water becomes a series of clean shapes that give the composition rhythm, while cul-de-sacs and winding drives fill the land between. Creeks, trail corridors and park land add thin lines and open spaces, so even a close crop of a single neighbourhood has a clear structure.

Interstate 94 edge
The interstate runs along the northern side of Portage, and its interchanges form looping figures that mark where the city meets Kalamazoo and the commercial corridors begin.
Westnedge corridor
Westnedge Avenue carries traffic north to south through the city, a straight commercial spine lined with large parcels and parking areas that contrast with the curving streets on either side.
