关于地图
Qiemo Map Poster & Print
Qiemo, known in Uyghur as Cherchen, is the seat of Qiemo County in the Bayingolin prefecture of southern Xinjiang. It lies on the Qarqan River where water from the Kunlun Mountains reaches the southern rim of the Taklamakan Desert. From above, the town is a green island: irrigated fields, tree-lined roads and a compact grid of streets, with desert on every side.
The oasis stood on the southern route of the Silk Road, which linked settlements strung along the desert's edge between Dunhuang and Khotan. The area is also known for the Cherchen mummies, remarkably preserved burials found at nearby ancient cemeteries that have drawn the attention of archaeologists worldwide.
A Qiemo map poster makes the logic of an oasis visible. Streets and roads concentrate where water is available, rows of trees and fields form a ruled pattern around the town, and the river's channels spread in thin lines. Beyond them, the map goes nearly empty, a quiet expanse that gives the built area a striking sense of scale and isolation.

The oasis grid
A compact street grid and tree-lined roads sit within a ring of irrigated fields, giving the centre a surprisingly orderly shape for a desert town.
The desert edge
Beyond the fields, the map opens into near-empty space, the southern margin of the Taklamakan, which frames the town like a wide white border.

为什么选 Qiemo
一张有意义的地图
Qiemo appeals to people drawn to the Silk Road, to deserts, or to places where geography dictates everything. The map tells that story without words: water, streets and emptiness in exact proportion.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the old name Cherchen, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand feels natural for a desert oasis, while Noir turns it into a bright island in the dark.
