Nen River channels
The river splits into many braided channels and islands along the western edge of the city. On the poster it becomes an intricate band of shapes next to the straight streets.

关于地图
Qiqihar Map Poster & Print
Qiqihar lies on the Songnen Plain in western Heilongjiang and is one of the oldest cities in China's northeast, growing from a Qing-era garrison town. It served as the provincial capital until 1954, when the seat moved to Harbin. The land around it is almost perfectly flat, so the streets extend in long straight lines with few natural obstacles.
The Nen River flows past the western side of the city in a shifting pattern of channels, sandbars and islands. From above it looks less like a single river than a braided band of water and marsh. Over the course of the twentieth century the city became an important centre for heavy industry, and rail yards and factory districts take up large blocks of the map.
Southeast of the city, the Zhalong Nature Reserve protects a vast reed wetland where red-crowned cranes breed, which has given Qiqihar the nickname Crane City. In the centre, Longsha Park wraps around a lake with islands and winding paths. A Qiqihar map poster sets that softer water against the long, regular lines of a northern industrial city.

Longsha Park
A large central park laid out around a lake, with small islands and curving paths. It is a calm, organic patch in the middle of an otherwise orderly street plan.
Zhalong wetlands
A vast reed marsh southeast of the city and breeding ground of the red-crowned crane. At a wider crop it fills the frame with open, almost empty space.

为什么选 Qiqihar
一张有意义的地图
Qiqihar's plain and river give the map a spare, open quality that suits a minimalist interior. For anyone from the city, it is a reminder of long winters, frozen riverbanks and the cranes that return each spring.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a year, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, then download the HD files or order a matte print, with or without a wooden frame.
