Quelfes Map Poster & Print
Quelfes is a parish in the municipality of Olhão, in the eastern Algarve in southern Portugal. It lies just inland from the town, between the coast and the low hills of the interior. From above, it is a mix of dispersed settlement: small clusters of houses, country lanes and cultivated plots rather than a single dense centre.
The land here has long been farmed, with citrus groves, orchards and small holdings typical of the Algarve's coastal plain. Toward the south the parish borders the more built-up area of Olhão, and beyond that the lagoons and islands of the Ria Formosa line the shore. Roads branch through the parish, connecting its hamlets with each other and with town.
