关于地图
Raytown Map Poster & Print
Raytown is a city in Jackson County, Missouri, on the south-eastern side of Kansas City and largely surrounded by it. From above it looks like a classic mid-century American suburb. Long residential streets, curving lanes and cul-de-sacs fill the area, with commercial strips along the main roads.
The town's history goes back to the Santa Fe Trail, which passed through the area in the nineteenth century when wagons headed west from the Missouri frontier. Raytown Road still follows part of that old route, and it runs through the town as one of its main arteries. Around it, twentieth-century subdivisions filled in the farmland.
A Raytown map poster shows the fine pattern of an American residential suburb, with its mix of grid and curve. Creeks and small parks cut through the neighbourhoods and break up the streets. For people who grew up here, the map tends to prompt memories of particular blocks and routes.

Suburban street pattern
Grid streets, curving lanes and cul-de-sacs cover most of the town. They create the fine, varied texture typical of post-war American suburbs.
Kansas City edge
Raytown is largely surrounded by Kansas City, so its streets carry on into the neighbouring city. The map shows how the two fit together.
