Ron Map Poster
Ron is a town in Gadag district in northern Karnataka and the headquarters of a taluk of the same name. It sits on the broad, level plateau of the Deccan, a landscape of dark cotton soils, wide fields and big skies. On a map the town is a compact knot of streets set in the middle of a huge agricultural landscape.
Its centre is a close grid of lanes and small blocks, with markets and older houses grouped together. Wider roads lead from it to neighbouring towns and villages across the district. With one of the shortest names in India, a Ron map poster makes a spare, graphic object: three letters above a tight urban core and the long lines of the plains.
The Gadag area is known for its temples from the Kalyani Chalukya period and its long agricultural tradition, with cotton and other dryland crops dominant.
