Roselle is a village in the western suburbs of Chicago, mostly in DuPage County with a small part extending into Cook County. On a map it shows the familiar layout of Midwestern suburbia. Straight arterial roads mark out a rough grid, and curving residential streets, loops and cul-de-sacs fill the spaces between them.
The Metra Milwaukee District West line cuts through the village, and the older downtown grew up around its station. Parks, ponds and school grounds appear as open shapes scattered among the neighbourhoods. The village edges merge with neighbouring suburbs, so the street pattern continues well beyond the municipal line.
