Desert setting
Flat, open terrain surrounds the town on all sides, so the built-up area appears as a sharply defined island of streets on the finished map.

关于地图
Şafwān Map Poster & Print
Safwan is a town in Basra Governorate at the southern tip of Iraq, very close to the border with Kuwait. The surrounding terrain is almost entirely flat desert, so from above the town appears as a distinct cluster of streets set against a wide, open background, with main roads running out toward Basra and the border crossing.
Safwan has a notable place in modern history. In March 1991, the ceasefire talks ending the Gulf War were held at the airfield near the town. The isolated hill of Jabal Sanam rises from the plain to the northwest, one of the few relief features in this landscape.
A Şafwān map poster is a spare, graphic print. The streets gather into a tight shape, the highways extend across empty ground, and the lack of surrounding clutter gives the town's outline a clarity that crowded city maps rarely have.

Border road
The main highway toward the Kuwaiti frontier runs straight across the plain, a strong line reflecting the town's role as a gateway at Iraq's southern edge.
Town street pattern
Within the settlement, streets form a fairly regular network of blocks, with wider roads marking the main routes through the centre.

为什么选 Şafwān
一张有意义的地图
For families from the Basra area, and for those who served or worked in the region, Safwan is a name with personal weight. A clean map of the town records that connection without comment, and it looks good in a study or office.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates to mark a date, a name or the Arabic spelling of the town. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand is a natural fit for the desert setting.
