Saratok Map Poster & Print
Saratok is a town in the Betong Division of Sarawak, on the island of Borneo. It lies in low, well-watered country, and from above it has the typical shape of a Sarawak river town. A compact commercial centre with a short grid of shophouse streets sits beside the water, and residential areas and roads spread out behind it.
The region around Saratok is largely rural, with smallholdings, plantations and patches of forest. Many Iban communities live in this part of Sarawak, some in longhouse settlements along the rivers and roads. On the map, a trunk road links the town with the rest of the state, and the river curves slowly through the surrounding land.
A Saratok map poster shows the town in its setting: a small, neat centre by the river, lines of road leading away, and wide rural areas around it. The river adds a soft, looping line to the composition, and the open countryside gives the map a feeling of space and calm.
