The northern highway
The trunk road between Tamale and the far north runs straight through town. It is the clearest line on the map, and most of Savelugu's streets hang off it.

关于地图
Savelugu Map Poster & Print
Savelugu sits in Ghana's Northern Region, a short drive north of Tamale on the main road toward Bolgatanga and the Burkina Faso border. From above, that highway is the town's backbone. A looser network of streets and footpaths branches off it on both sides, and the built area thins out gradually into farmland and scattered settlements, with no hard edge.
The land around Savelugu is typical Guinea savanna: flat to gently rolling, cut by seasonal streams and dotted with small reservoirs and dugouts that hold water through the dry months. On a map, family compounds show up as small clusters instead of a rigid grid. It gives the town a granular, almost textile-like pattern that looks very different from a planned city.
Savelugu is the seat of its municipal district and a market centre for the farming communities around it. It also became known internationally during Ghana's long campaign against Guinea worm disease, when the area was one of the focal points of that effort. A Savelugu map poster keeps the plain, honest geometry of a northern Ghanaian town: one strong road and a wide spread of lanes.

Compound texture
Instead of long blocks, the residential areas are made of small clustered compounds and irregular paths. At poster scale they form a fine, even texture.
Open savanna edges
The town has no ring road or wall. Streets fade gradually into farm tracks and open land, which gives the composition soft, breathing margins.

为什么选 Savelugu
一张有意义的地图
For people from Savelugu or with family in the Northern Region, this map is a quiet reminder of home: the road north, the market, the paths between compounds. It also suits anyone who has worked or volunteered in the area and wants something more personal than a photograph.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to match the room it will hang in.
