Tri-border corner
Guidimaka sits where Mauritania meets Mali and Senegal, so the roads out of Sélibaby point toward neighbouring countries and give the plan a strong sense of direction.

关于地图
Sélibaby Map Poster & Print
Sélibaby is the capital of Guidimaka, the southernmost region of Mauritania, in the corner where the country meets Mali and Senegal. This is the greener edge of a mostly desert nation. The Sahel here gets more rain than the north, and the map shows it in the seasonal watercourses that cut through the land around the town.
The town spreads in low, loosely gridded blocks, with wide sandy streets and family compounds that look like small enclosed squares from above. Roads leave the centre in a few directions, linking Sélibaby with the Senegal River valley and the rest of the region, and the built-up area thins quickly into open country.
A Sélibaby map poster keeps only the essentials: the pattern of compounds, the main routes, the faint dry channels that fill in the rainy season. The place is spare by nature, which suits a minimalist print. It gives a town that seldom appears on maps the attention of a proper, carefully drawn plan.

Compound blocks
Walled family compounds create a fine texture of small squares and rectangles. The pattern is typical of Sahelian towns and very easy to read in clean line work.
Seasonal channels
Dry beds that carry water after the rains wind through and around the town, adding soft natural curves to an otherwise angular street pattern.

为什么选 Sélibaby
一张有意义的地图
Many families in Guidimaka have relatives far from home, in Nouakchott, Dakar, France or elsewhere. A map of Sélibaby is a quiet way to keep the town's layout in view, with the streets of a childhood or a family house marked by memory rather than signposts.
Personalise the title and subtitle, keep or edit the coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px preview lets you check the framing before you buy the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
